SAP stands for ‘Systems Applications and Products’ in data processing and was founded in the year 1972 by five IBM employees named - Wellenreuther, Hopp, Hector, Plattner and Tschira, from Mannheim, Germany, with the aim to provide the customers with the ability to interact upon a common database for a comprehensive range of enterprise applications. It is also called of the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software and consists of fully integrated functional as well as technical modules that help enterprises to manage business processes.
SAP enables its customers to operate their business processes such as accounting, sales and marketing, production, plants, human resources and finance in an integrated environment. Also, it provides the effective use of resources like manpower, machines and production capacities.
